Mr. Michael “Mike” J. McCright, age 71, entered into rest on Friday, June 7, 2024. A Celebration of Life gathering will be held at a later date. The family respectfully requests for no visitors at the home during this time.

 

Mr. McCright was born September 27, 1952 in Lancaster, SC a son of the late Lewis Elbert McCright and Barbara Ann Threatt McCright. He was a retired Sergeant with Evans Correctional Institution and a former General Manager with Ryan’s Family Steakhouse. Mike was a member of St. Paul United Methodist Church and enjoyed attending FreeWorship of Cheraw and Maranatha Family Center. He enjoyed spending time in God’s creation, feeding the birds, deer, and fish.

 

In addition to his parents, Mr. McCright was also preceded in death by his brothers, Lewis E. “Butch” McCright, Jr. and Leonard Boyce McCright; uncle, Tommy Rivers; aunts, Inez McGill, and Margie Freeman; and mother-in-law, Shirley “MiMi” B. Spencer.

 

Survivors include his wife of 21 years, Lynne B. Spencer of the home; son, Damon (Kristy) McCright, and his mother, Johnnie Sue McCright both of Chesterfield, SC; grandchildren, Brayden and Jackson McCright; sisters, Patricia Kay McCright, and Selma Anne Watson both of Columbia, SC; aunts, Mary Rivers of Williston, SC, and Linda (Norman) Keefe of St. Matthews, SC; niece, Sarah Spencer (Paul) Haile of Chesterfield, SC; nephews, William Spencer, III of Wichita, KS, and Mark Edward Spencer of Columbia, SC. Great nieces, Peyton and Sydney Haile of Chesterfield, SC, brothers-in-law, Billy (Connie) Spencer of Chesterfield, SC, and Mark E. (Carmen) Spencer of Cheraw, SC; and his 4-legged children, "Boomer" and "Molly"

 

The family would like to express their heartfelt appreciation to devoted caregiver, Sarah Spencer Haile; the staff and administration of Grand Strand Medical Center, Encompass Health and Rehabilitation, McLeod Health – Cheraw, Cheraw Healthcare, and McLeod Hospice for the exceptional care and support they have provided.
