Melody Paasch - Preston

Cheraw, SC - Ms. Melody Paasch - Preston, aged 70, formerly of Florida, peacefully passed away on the morning of July 8, 2025, at McLeod Health - Cheraw. A private burial will be held at Chesterfield Cemetery.

Born on March 31, 1955, in Rochester, NY, Melody was the daughter of the late Claude Paasch and Betty Jane Wunsch Hausman. A devoted Christian, she was a diligent student of God's word and shared her faith through her love of music. Melody had a deep appreciation for classical and traditional Christian music and was a talented organist, serving local churches in Florida.

In addition to her parents, Melody was preceded in death by one brother, one sister, brother-in-law Ronald A. McCollum, Jr., and her son's father, Mark Sophron.

Melody is survived by her son, Jason (Vania) Sophron of Tennessee; grandchild, Vaelynn; her sister, Claudia A. McCollum of Cheraw, SC; her brother, Christopher (Bonnie) Paasch of Oregon; and numerous nieces and nephews who will cherish her memory.
