Mary Gaddy Newton passed away on June 10th, 2025. A graveside service will be held for her on Friday, June 13th, 2025, at Grove Hill Cemetery in Darlington at 11:00am.

Mary was born on March 21st, 1929, in Anson County, North Carolina to Jesse and Bessie Gaddy. She met and married the love of her life William Newton. She was a nurse by profession and worked 36 years until the age of seventy-three.

She leaves behind her son William “Terry” (Linda) Newton of Darlington, daughters, Kathy Dixon of Cheraw, and Elaine (Dwayne) Rivers of Cheraw. Her seven grandchildren and ten great grandchildren. As well as her granddaughter who was her loving caregiver, Tammy (Tommy Atkinson) Wallace; her brother, George Gaddy of Wadesboro, and sister Ila Grace Boyd of Chesterfield.

Preceding her in death are her husband William who passed in 1978, her parents, her siblings: Margaret Sellers, Ernest Gaddy, Furman Gaddy, Brenda Collins, Clarice Martin, Clyde Gaddy, James Gaddy, John Gaddy, Jesse Gaddy, Jr., and Garrett Gaddy.
