Mrs. Mary Elizabeth Gaskins Johnson, age 76, entered into rest on Tuesday, January 2, 2024. Funeral services will be 1:00 PM Friday, January 5, 2024 at Shiloh United Methodist Church by Pastor Fred McDaniel with the committal service to follow in the church cemetery. The family will greet friends immediately following the service at the graveside.

 

Mrs. Johnson was born on June 29, 1947 in Chesterfield, SC to the late Vernon and Elizabeth Best Gaskins. Mary Elizabeth was a loving wife, mother, sister, and grandmother. She retired from Palmetto Brick Company after 25 years of service. Mrs. Johnson enjoyed dancing to good music, eating good food, and the company of good friends. Mary liked to take trips with her family to the beach. Above all else, Mary Elizabeth loved spending time with her grandchildren.

 

In addition to her parents, Mrs. Johnson was preceded in death by her daughter-in-law, Tina Johnson; siblings, Ramona Gaskins Ridgill, Nancy Gaskins, and Sonny Gaskins.

 

Mrs. Johnson is survived by her husband of 53 years, Johnnie Johnson of the home; children, Dana Johnson of Myrtle Beach, SC, Jessica (Chris) Johnson of Chevy Chase, MD, Nancy (Adrian) Howard of Columbus, OH, Johnny Johnson of Mt. Pleasant, SC; grandchildren, Caroline, Catherine, Carter, Sydney, Landon, Aiden, ; siblings, Edgar (Susan) Gaskins of Charleston, SC, Miriam Gaskins of Myrtle Beach, SC; and numerous nieces and nephews.
