Marion Annanell Worthington Freeman

Marion Annanell Worthington Freeman, age 70, of Cheraw, SC, passed away peacefully on the evening of July 18, 2026, at the McLeod Hospice House in Florence, surrounded by her loved ones. A private committal service will be held at a later date.

Ms. Freeman was born November 4, 1955 in Greenville, NC, a daughter of the late Charles Cecil Worthington and Blanche Patrick Worthington. She retired after a dedicated career as a kindergarten teacher and was a member of First Baptist Church of Cheraw.

A lady who devoted her life to rescuing and caring for animals, Annanell was a faithful caretaker of God's creatures offering love, comfort, and a safe haven to animals in need. May her memory be eternal.

In addition to her parents, Annanell was also preceded in death by her sister, Joanne Worthington Linville.

Left to cherish her memory are her brother,Charles (Beverly) Worthington; children of the heart, Dustin & Selena Chapman, Cameron & Gracen Allison and their son, Mac (who affectionately referred to her as “Nana”;) in addition to numerous nieces and nephews and her beloved dogs and cats, whose unconditional love brought her great comfort and joy.

In keeping with her lifelong devotion to rescuing and caring for animals, memorials may be made to the Chesterfield Animal Shelter, 467 Goodale Road, Chesterfield, SC 29709.
