Mrs. Margie Ruth Turner Dew, age 89, entered into rest on Tuesday, August 6, 2024. A funeral service will be 2:00 PM Saturday, August 10, 2024 at Miller-Rivers-Caulder Funeral Home Chapel by Brent Taylor. The family will greet friends from 12:30 – 2:00 PM Saturday prior to the service at the funeral home. Due to excessive amounts of rain, the committal service will take place on Monday, August 12, 2024 at 11:00 AM at Pine View Baptist Church Cemetery.

Mrs. Dew was born November 6, 1934 in Chesterfield, SC a daughter of the late John Wesley and Pearlie Mae Burr Turner. She was a retired employee of Winn-Dixie in Archdale, NC where she worked in the bakery. Margie and her family attended Pleasant Hill Baptist Church. She enjoyed cooking, baking cookies, and always had a piece of butterscotch candy to share.

In addition to her parents, Mrs. Dew was also preceded in death by her husband, Robert G. Dew; sons, Eddie Freeman, Mike Freeman, and Phillip Freeman; her brothers, Hardy, Paul, Coleman, David, and Grayland Turner; and sisters, Ethelene Grant, Naomi McDonald, Iris McKnight, and Lois Gaskins.

Survivors include her daughters-in-law, Susan Freeman of Chesterfield, SC, Susan Freeman of Archdale, NC, and Lucinda Hodges of Darlington, SC; step-son, Patrick Dew of Angier, NC; grandchildren, Timmy Freeman, Genny Freeman, Ricky Pulliam, Christina Foster, Laura Freeman, Amy Previtte, Melissa Horne, and Stephanie Freeman; 18 great grandchildren; and three great-great grandchildren.
