Margaret Ladd Welsh

Chesterfield, SC

          Mrs. Margaret Ladd Welsh, age 92, entered into rest on Friday, May 31, 2024 at her home with her family by her side. Funeral services will be 4:00 PM Tuesday, June 4, 2024 from the Chapel of Miller-Rivers-Caulder Funeral Home by Brent Taylor with burial to follow in the Thompson Creek Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will greet friends from 3:00 – 4:00 PM Tuesday, prior to the service at the funeral home. 

          Mrs. Welsh was born December 11, 1931 in Mecklenburg County, NC a daughter of the late Mallie Parnell and Ruby Sealey Ladd. She was a devoted homemaker and member of Hopewell Baptist Church. Her creative spirit shone through her passion for drawing, coloring, sewing, and reading. Known as the matriarch of her family, she cherished her loved ones deeply and took great pride in each of them.

          In addition to her parents, Mrs. Welsh was also preceded in death by her beloved husband of 70 years, Benson Perry Welsh; son, Paul Alan Welsh; daughter, Marie Ann Welsh; brother, Buddy Ladd; daughter-in-law, Sandy Welsh; and son-in-law, Buster Moffett.

          Survivors include her children, Bob Welsh of Lake Wales, FL, Patsy Moffett of Phenix City, AL, Sandee (Gary) Bonnie of Wildwood, FL, and Jackie (Chris) Gaskins of Ruby, SC; daughter-in-law, Joyce Welsh of Lake City, FL; grandchildren, Russell Welsh, Meghan (Matt) Balliett, Shaun (Lynn) Moffett, Daniel Moffett, Nathan (Samantha) Welsh, Grant & Genna Gaskins; 3 great grandchildren; and 1 nephew.

          The family would like to express their sincere gratitude to caregivers, Brenda Curry and Betty Atkinson for the exceptional love and care they provided to Mrs. Welsh and the family.
