Mrs. Edwards was born July 19, 1942 in Kershaw, SC the daughter of the late John and Lillie Mae Raffaldt Watts. Mrs. Margaret Edwards was a woman who deeply valued hard work, dedicating many years of faithful service to Conbraco before her retirement. A devoted follower of Christ, she was a cherished member of Almetta Baptist Church, where her unwavering faith was evident in every aspect of her life. Margaret’s abundant kindness and generous heart reflected her deep relationship with the Lord. She cherished her family and treasured the time spent with them. Saturdays were often reserved for shopping trips with her sister Mary, and she found great joy in visiting her sisters, Betty and Sue. Margaret was a loving mother and grandmother, but the bond she shared with her grandchildren went beyond the traditional role—she was a nurturing presence in their lives, more like a second mother than simply a grandmother. Margaret also had a special place in her heart for her loyal canine companion, Zoey.
In addition to her parents, Mrs. Edwards was also preceded in death by her husband, Billy Joe Edwards; son, Richard Edwards, siblings, Beverly Copeland, and Catherine Adams.
Survivors include her daughter, Angela (Jimmy) Kirkley of Monroe, NC; grandchildren, Nicole (Travis) Tucker of Pageland, SC, Paige (Dylan) Ward of Pageland, SC, Jared Tadlock of Pageland, SC; great-grandchildren, Noah Tucker, Olivia Tucker, Camden Tucker, Adrian Ward, Julian Ward; sisters, Betty Rollins of Sumter, SC; Mary Gritzback of Pageland, SC, Sue (Jimmy) Mosley of Sevierville, TN; in addition to numerous nieces and nephews.
Memorials may be made to the Edward Carlton McWhorter Hospice House, c/o Hospice of Union County, 700 W. Roosevelt Blvd., Monroe, NC 28112.
