Mrs. Margaret Miles McCarn, 91, of Jefferson, SC, went home to be with the Lord on the morning of August 25, 2026, at Cheraw Post Acute, with her son John by her side. Graveside services will be held at 11:00 AM, Friday, August 28, 2026 at Long Branch Baptist Church Cemetery by Pastor Tim Wright, Reverend Kyle Oliver, and Reverend Marty Quick. The family will greet friends from 10:00 AM – 11:00 AM in the sanctuary of Long Branch Baptist Church and other times at the home of her son, Jeff McCarn.

Mrs. McCarn was born October 17, 1934 in the Sycamore community of Jefferson, SC a daughter of the late Dewey L. Miles and Angie Tucker Miles. She was a former employee of Caro-knit with over 30 years of service and enjoyed planning and working yard sales, where she treasured meeting many friends. As a devoted mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and great-great-grandmother, she took great pride in gifting each family member with a jigsaw puzzle she lovingly assembled.

A life-long dedicated member of Long Branch Baptist Church, Mrs. Margaret gave her heart to the Lord at age 14 and faithfully served him to the best of her ability. She held the honored title of the oldest member of Long Branch Baptist Church.

In addition to her parents, Mrs. McCarn was also preceded in death by a sister, Mary Lee Miles Jordan; brother, Olin W. Miles; brothers-in-law, Archie Jordan and Billy Cline; and daughter, Vickie Angela McCarn Quick.

Survivors include her children, Jeffrey (Linda) McCarn of Jefferson, SC, John McCarn (Carol Hall) of Patrick, SC; grandchildren, Rev. Marty (Angel) Quick of Jefferson, SC, Chris Quick of McBee, SC, Jeffrey McCarn, Jr. (Lauren McFarland) of Jefferson, SC, Samantha (Andrew) Flanagan of Morgantown, WV; 14 great grandchildren; 2 great – great grandchildren; sister, Thelma Miles Cline of Jefferson, SC; son-in-law, Ricky Quick of Jefferson, SC; sister-in-law, Shelby Miles of Kannapolis, NC; daughter of the heart, Wendy Walden of the Middendorf community; in addition to numerous nieces and nephews.

The family extends heartfelt gratitude to nurse Rebecca Hackley, physical therapist Leroy Tart, and the staff of Cheraw Post Acute, as well as hospice nurse April Carter and the Agape Care team for their compassionate care and support.
