Ms. Margaret Hayes Price entered into rest on Wednesday, July 1, 2026 at the age of 82. A graveside service will be held in the Jefferson Cemetery on Saturday, July 11, 2026 at 10:00 AM by Pastor Scott Wilson. The family will receive friends at Ms. Margaret’s home, 501 N. Main St., Jefferson, SC 29718, from 5:00 to 7:00 PM on Friday, July 10, 2026.

Ms. Hayes was born on March 7, 1944, in Jefferson, SC the daughter of the late Preston and Neelie Oliver Hayes. Margaret enjoyed dancing, spending time outdoors tending to her garden, and cheering on Duke basketball. She was a devoted fan of Elvis Presley and proudly owned every album he ever recorded. She also found great joy in caring for her beloved cats. Above all, Margaret cherished the time she spent with her siblings, nieces, and nephews, who were the greatest blessing in her life.

In addition to her parents, Margaret was preceded in death by her siblings, James W. “JBuck” Hayes, Virgina “Jean” Outen; and nephew, Tim Hayes.

Survivors include nieces, Lisa Steele of Florence, SC, Sondra Price of Pageland, SC, Bettina (John Bessinger) Rayfield of Murrells Inlet, SC, Cindy Hayes of Jefferson, SC; nephews, Samuel Steele of Florence, SC, Jackson Steele of Florence, SC, Nolan (Jordan) Price of Williamston, SC, Preston (Rufina) Price of Jefferson, SC; great-niece, Sarah Ashley Hayes of Jefferson, SC; great-nephews, Cayde Price, Colton Price; sister-in-law, Martha Hayes of Jefferson, SC; and special family member, Mike Smith of Hartsville, SC.
