Marcia Adams Tolson

Chesterfield, SC

Mrs. Marcia Adams Tolson, age 66, entered into rest on Thursday, February 3, 2022. Funeral services will be 12:00 PM Monday, February 7, 2022 from the chapel of Miller-Rivers-Caulder Funeral Home by Rev. Stephen Sanderson and Brent Taylor with burial to follow in the Westfield Creek Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will greet friends from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM Sunday, February 6, 2022 at Miller-Rivers-Caulder Funeral Home.

Mama Marcia’s last wishes to her children were to love and take care of one another, then make sure everyone else knows, “I love them."

Special thanks to the nurses and doctors that tried to provide her with quality care. Special thanks to God Almighty for being merciful and taking her home at His appointed time and Jesus Christ for salvation.

Marcia Dale (Adams) Tolson was born on May 31st, 1955 to Thomas Jefferson Adams and Mary Dell (Jones) Adams. Marcia was the proud mother of James Tolson (Elizabeth Tolson) and Rose Jordan (Blake Jordan). Marcia was also the proud grandmother (Gigi) of Elyjah Blake Jordan, Jeremiah Graham Jordan and Benjamin Judah Jordan. She also cared for Angel Wilks, “Vicky” Purvis, “Lulu” Purvis and “Sophi” Purvis as her own grandchildren. Her fur grandbabies were Maybelle, Roscoe, Whisper and Whitey. Mama Marcia often showed her love for others in the kitchen. She loved to cook for any and everybody, including her furbabies.

In addition to loving as a mother and grandmother, she was a beloved sister to Darryl Floyd (Gail) Wallace, Linda Ann (Edwin) Taylor, Mary Oletta (Ray) Deese and Vera Kay “Bebe” Adams. She regarded Margaret (Peter) Mattedich as siblings as well. Marcia was also a proud aunt of many nieces and nephews. She enjoyed spending time with her siblings so much.

Beyond the family, she was an Ag Ed mom, tried and true. Proud of the hundreds of FFA members she’s fed over the years, her children and their work in agricultural education and involvement in organizations such as: FFA and SC Farmer and Agribusiness Association.

Most important of all, Mama Marcia confessed her love and thanks for Jesus Christ, her Lord and Savior.

A few family members she looked forward to seeing again after all these years: Mama, Daddy, Bebe, Aunt Julia, Uncle Ed. Not to mention how much she looked forward to meeting the rest of her grandchildren.

Memorials may be made to the local FFA or 4H organization of one’s choice.
