Mrs. Madie Lee Faulkenberry, age 92, entered into rest on Saturday, September 21, 2024. Funeral services will be 4:00 PM Tuesday, September 24, 2024 at Bethel Baptist Church by Pastor Curtis Laney and Reverend Tim Williams with burial to follow in the church cemetery. The family will greet friends from 3:00 – 4:00 PM Tuesday, prior to the service in the church sanctuary.
Mrs. Faulkenberry was born May 12, 1932 in Chesterfield County, SC a daughter of the late Carl and Vity Boone Robertson. She was the former owner and operator of Eastside Grocery and a former employee of both Sacony Industries and Challenger. Madie was a faithful life-long member of Bethel Baptist Church. She could often be found working in her yard or shelling peas and pecans, always staying busy. She had a special bond with her sisters and enjoyed hosting all her family each year at Easter.
In addition to her parents, Mrs. Faulkenberry was also preceded in death by her husband, Charles J. Faulkenberry; brothers, Bobby Lee Robertson, and Moch Robertson; and sister, Bonnie Boone.
Survivors include her sons, Rickey (Karen) Faulkenberry of Patrick, SC, Carl Junior (Melissa) Autry of Statesville, SC, and Danny (Betty) Autrey of Pelion, SC; grandchildren, Charlie (Ashli) Faulkenberry of Lowell, NC, Chris Harrington of Pageland, SC, Casey Helton of Statesville, NC, and Travis (Hope) Pennell of Taylorsville, NC; great grandchildren, Logan Faulkenberry, Caitlyn Pennell, and Christopher Pennell; siblings, Emma Miles of Cheraw, SC, Bernice Robertson of Knoxville, TN, Myrtice (Ted) Tompkins of Myrtle Beach, SC, Elaine (Jack) Garner of Camden, SC, Margaret (Tommy) Oliver of Jefferson, SC, Louise (Joe) Mills of Marshville, NC, Johnny (Julia) Robinson of Jefferson, SC; brother-in-law, Thomas “Monk” Boone of Jefferson, SC; special friends, Katherine Hammonds, and Deanna Kearnes; in addition to numerous nieces and nephews.
