Lucille King Douglas, affectionately known as “MaCille,” of Chesterfield entered into rest October 28, 2025, at her home. Funeral services will be held 2:00 PM Thursday, October 30, 2025 at Chesterfield Baptist Church by Pastor Randy Bishop and Rev. Charles Owens with burial to follow in the Chesterfield Cemetery. The family will greet friends Thursday from 1:00 – 2:00 PM prior to the service in the sanctuary of Chesterfield Baptist Church, as well as on Wednesday, October 29, 2025, from 4:00 PM – 7:00 PM at the residence of Dr. John and Lu McLeod.
Mrs. Douglas was born August 23, 1928 in McBee, SC, a daughter of the late Ernest and Linnie Shaw King. She was a graduate of Chesterfield High School and retired from the Bank of Chesterfield and First Citizens Bank with 40 years of service. Mrs. Douglas was the oldest member of Chesterfield Baptist Church. She had previously served as treasurer of both the Chesterfield Cemetery Association and Chesterfield Ministerial Association for many years. She was also a former volunteer with Hospice of Chesterfield County and the Sunshine Shoppe.
In addition to her parents, Mrs. Douglas was preceded in death by her husband David Franklin Douglas, Sr., after 73 years of marriage, sisters, Cora Lee Sellers and Willie Faye Hancock, and brother Dewey King.
Survivors include two sons, Franklin (Panda) Douglas of Bethune, SC, and Rev. Everett Douglas (Beth) of Rock Hill, SC; three daughters, Lu (Dr. John) McLeod of Chesterfield, Lynn Liles of Chesterfield, and Susan Scott of Albemarle, NC; nine grandchildren, John Douglas, Frank (Julie) Douglas, Bruce (Brianna) Douglas, Meagan Page, Lauren Strole, John Frank McLeod, Jeffrey Liles, Douglas (Katlynn) Liles and Hunter Scott; and seventeen great-grandchildren, Campbell Douglas, Will (Camryn) Douglas, David Douglas, Miller Douglas, Riley Douglas, Ellie Douglas, Kynlee Douglas, McKendrie Douglas, Lila Douglas, Caedmon Page, Jonas Page, Bethany Page, Gabe Liles, Carleigh Liles, Lexi Liles, Hannah Liles and Harper Liles.
The family extends sincere appreciation to her dedicated caregivers Mary Allsbrook, Dale Bryson, Wanda Dixon, Sheila Oliver, Melinda Smith and Diane Usher and to Gentiva Hospice of Chesterfield for the exceptional care provided to Mrs. Douglas. A special thanks to her son-in-law, Dr. John McLeod for his many years of loving care.
