Chesterfield, SC – Mrs. Louise King Rivers Davis, age 102, peacefully departed this life on October 19, 2025, at her home, surrounded by her loved ones. A graveside service will be held at 1:00 PM on Wednesday, October 22, 2025, in the Rivers Family Cemetery, located within Zoar Methodist Church Cemetery. The service will be officiated by Hospice Chaplain Hank Fields and Pastor Hank Griffin. The family will greet friends immediately following the service at the cemetery. A viewing will take place on Wednesday morning from 9:00 AM to 12:00 PM at Miller-Rivers-Caulder Funeral Home.
Born on March 16, 1923, in Chesterfield, SC, Mrs. Davis was the daughter of the late Lonnie and Ava Reid King. She graduated from Zoar High School and was the oldest living member of Zoar Methodist Church, where she formerly served as a leader of the United Methodist Women. After a dedicated career with Chesterfield County, she retired in 1984 from the Chesterfield County Tax Assessor’s Office.
Mrs. Davis cherished the memories made traveling across all 48 contiguous states, as well as Canada and Mexico, alongside her late husband, C.H. Known as an elegant southern lady, she took great pride in her appearance and enjoyed working with ceramics. Her deep love for her hometown of Chesterfield and its rich history was evident throughout her life. The matriarch of her family, Mrs. Davis took great pride in her role as a grandmother, great-grandmother, and great-great-grandmother.
She was preceded in death by her husbands, Wilson Rivers and Carey H. “C.H.” Davis; her brothers, John Wesley King, Sr. and Melvin King; and her sister, Ollie Dean Huggins.
She is survived by her daughters, Pat Rivers Honeycutt and husband Steve of Chesterfield, SC, and Pam Rivers Bowen and husband Larry of Clemmons, NC. Her legacy continues through her grandchildren: Jeff Honeycutt (Laura) of Cheraw, SC, Travis Honeycutt (Sheila) of Chesterfield, SC, and Nikki Bowen of Charlotte, NC; as well as five great-grandchildren and three great-great-grandchildren, alongside numerous nieces and nephews.
The family wishes to extend their heartfelt gratitude to Mrs. Davis’ caregivers over the past seven months, and to the entire staff of Gentiva Hospice of Chesterfield for their compassionate care and support.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Gentiva Hospice of Chesterfield, 205 E. Main Street, Chesterfield, SC 29709.
