Louise Elizabeth (Entzminger) Johnson
January 25, 1942–June 28, 2026
Louise was born on January 25, 1942, in Tampa, Florida, and spent most of her childhood in South Carolina before making North Carolina her home. A 1960 graduate of Chesterfield High School, she graduated from North Greenville Junior College before earning a degree in elementary education from Appalachian State Teachers College.
She devoted her professional life to serving others. Louise began her career as an early childhood educator, then joined the North Carolina Employment Security Commission, where she worked closely with military veterans, older adults, and people with disabilities, helping them prepare for and find employment.
Louise fiercely loved her family, who were the center of her world. Her unwavering faith in God was the foundation of that love and sustained her throughout her life.
Louise is survived by her daughter, Elizabeth Johnson Simmons, and her son-in-law, David Forest Simmons; her granddaughters, Rachel Elizabeth Simmons and Claire Rebecca Simmons; her brother, Sedley King Entzminger, Jr.; her beloved nieces and nephews; and her extended family and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents, the Reverend Sedley King Entzminger and Frances Elizabeth Whitmire Entzminger; her brother, David Warren Entzminger; and her sister, Priscilla Entzminger Welsh.
Louise will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered.
The family sincerely thanks all who shared their prayers, love, and condolences during this time. Your kindness and support have been a great comfort.
