Lois Adams Poole

Chesterfield, SC

Mrs. Lois A. Poole, age 96, passed away peacefully on September 10, 2026, at McLeod Health - Cheraw. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM on Friday, September 18, 2026, at Shiloh Methodist Church, officiated by Pastor Jeff Gardner. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will greet friends from 10:00 to 11:00 AM prior to the service in the church sanctuary.

Born on October 19, 1929, in McFarlan, NC, Lois was the daughter of the late Irvin and Bertha Martin Adams. She graduated from Morven High School and worked in the textile industry. After the passing of her husband, Lois returned to manage the family farm. A faithful member of Shiloh Methodist Church, she was actively involved in the Shiloh UMW, the Senior Saints ministry, and the bereavement ministry. Lois also volunteered for many years with the Senior Circle alongside her late friend, Celia Brock Johnson, at Chesterfield General Hospital.

Lois enjoyed bowling, being part of a league for many years, and participated in Bingo and line dancing. She cherished the companionship and fellowship these activities brought. Her Christian faith was important to her, and she remained dedicated to reading and studying His word.

She was predeceased by her husband of 24 years, Julius Wesley "Don" Poole, her parents, sisters Marie Calendar and Bernice Ashworth, and brother Travis Adams.

Lois is survived by her children, Ervin Bradley Poole and Gary Alan Poole; grandchildren Jane (Travis) Hiscutt and Addie (Wes) Brown; and great-grandchildren Sawyer Hiscutt, Benjamin Hiscutt, Jackson Brown, Nolan Brown, and Macey Brown.

The family extends their sincere appreciation to Cindy Gibson, her longtime caregiver, and the medical staff at McLeod Hospital in Cheraw.
