Ms. Lisa Mahaffey Gaytko, age 61, of Pageland, South Carolina, passed away peacefully on the evening of May 7, 2026, at the McLeod Hospice House in Florence, South Carolina, with her daughter by her side.
Born on May 3, 1965, in Lancaster, South Carolina, Lisa was the daughter of the late Henry Lewis Mahaffey and Annette Springs Mahaffey. She was a graduate of Lancaster High School and earned an associate’s degree in business and accounting from Chesterfield–Marlboro Technical College.
Lisa was a member of The Door of Hope Seventh-day Adventist Church in Pageland. Over her career, she dedicated more than 23 years to Founders Federal Credit Union, where she was deeply appreciated by both her colleagues and customers. Known for her warm spirit, Lisa touched the lives of many with kindness and light.
A woman of many talents and interests, Lisa had a passion for interior design and decorating, and she was a gifted artist who enjoyed drawing. She was also an avid writer, particularly noted for her gift in gospel poetry. Lisa loved singing in church, often sharing her beautiful voice alongside her daughter. Shopping was one of her favorite pastimes. Above all, she took great pride and joy in being “Gi-Gi” to her cherished grandchildren.
She is survived by her daughter, April Renee Honeycutt and husband Josh; her son, Joseph “Joey” Alan Gaytko, affectionately known as “Jo Jo” to many, all of Pageland, South Carolina; grandchildren Kayla Lynn Connor, Kinsey Marie Connor, and Gabriel Mason Honeycutt; her brother, Henry Scott Mahaffey of Rock Hill, South Carolina; and special cousins Gwen and Tracy Pope, Tammie and James Matthews, Sheri Poston Deese, and Ashley B. Deese.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM on Monday, May 11, 2026, at the Chapel of Miller-Rivers-Caulder Funeral Home, officiated by Brent Taylor. The family will receive friends from 1:00 to 2:00 PM prior to the service. A graveside service will follow at 4:00 PM the same day at Lancaster Memorial Park in Lancaster, South Carolina.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to The ALS Foundation (www.als.org).
