Mrs. Linda Louise Garrett Carter, age 77, of Rome, GA, passed away on Friday, June 20, 2025, at a hospital in Hartsville, SC.


Mrs. Garrett was born in Rome, GA, on October 1, 1947, daughter of the late Percy Wallace Garrett and the late Helen Louise Powell Garrett. She was also preceded in death by her husband of over 55 years, Rev. Harry David Carter. Mrs. Carter was a graduate of East Rome High School. She was employed with Floyd Medical Center where she worked as a medical transcriptionist for over 18 years before her retirement. Mrs. Carter was a talented seamstress and loved cooking for her family. She was an avid shopper and was always put together before leaving her house. Mrs. Carter loved her family and always made sure they were taken care of but also made sure they were acting right. She was a member of First Baptist Church of Cedar Bluff, AL, and, when her health allowed, loved being active in any event the church was hosting.


Survivors include her 3 children, Katrina Carter Johnson (Charles), Cedar Bluff, AL, Paige Carter Wright (Tim), Cheraw, SC, and Jeffrey David Carter, Chesterfield, SC; her sister, Diane Garrett Collins (Rick); 5 grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; a godson, Jeremy Cowart; numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.


Funeral services will be held at 11am on Friday, June 27, 2025, in the Chapel at Henderson & Sons Funeral Home, South Chapel, with her son-in-law, Rev. Tim Wright, officiating. Interment will follow in Oaknoll Memorial Gardens.


The family will receive friends from 10am until service time on Friday at Henderson & Sons Funeral Home, South Chapel.


Pallbearers are to assemble by 10:30am on Friday at Henderson & Sons Funeral Home, South Chapel, and include; Garrett Collins, Jay Lockwood, Wesley Carter, Dusty Johnson, Zain Howell, and Tim Ray.


Miller-Rivers-Caulder Funeral Home of Chesterfield, SC and Henderson & Sons Funeral Home, South Chapel, is honored to serve the family of Mrs. Linda Louise Garrett Carter.
