Miss Leslie Joy Sullivan, age 47, entered into rest on Thursday, August 19, 2021. Graveside services to honor her beautiful life will be 5:00 PM Sunday, August 22, 2021 at Macedonia Baptist Church Cemetery by Pastor David Sanders and Reverend David Christopher. For those who are uncomfortable in a public setting, you are welcome to park anywhere around the perimeter of the cemetery, remain in your car and tune in to 89.5 FM to hear the service.

The family will receive friends from 5:00 – 7:00 PM Saturday, August 21, 2021 at Miller-Rivers-Caulder Funeral Home and other times at the home of Tim & Jennifer Sullivan, Jefferson, SC.

Due to COVID-19 regulations, our staff is committed to taking care of our guests and families that we serve. We also ask all guests and family members attending visitations and services to please continue social distancing and face coverings are strongly encouraged.

Miss Sullivan was born January 27, 1974 in Lancaster, SC a daughter of Tommy Augustus "Lum" and Linda Middleton Sullivan. She was a 1992 graduate of Central High School and received her certificate in Cosmetology from Monroe Beauty School, and her Bachelor’s Degree in Health and Human Services from the University of South Carolina. She was employed with the SC Department of Health and Human Services for the past 17 years and also with Gwen’s Merle Norman of Pageland as a hair stylist.

Miss Sullivan was an active member of Macedonia Baptist Church. She accepted Christ there and was baptized in 1997. She faithfully served in assisting with the church youth group, V.B.S., and Women on Missions. Joy also served on the sound system committee and was a dedicated nursery worker.

Miss Sullivan served as Secretary of Jefferson Dixie Youth for the past 8 years, and enjoyed coaching girls’ softball alongside her sister. She was a former member of both the Advisory School Board for Jefferson Elementary, and the Blue Jay Festival Committee. In addition to church and coaching, Joy also enjoyed scrapbooking and spending time with her family. She especially enjoyed time spent with her niece and nephews, whom she treated as her own children.

Miss Sullivan was reunited in heaven with her maternal grandfather, Donald Middleton; paternal grandparents, Emsley & Myrtle Sullivan; and cousins, Travis Raley, and Josh Raley.

Survivors include her loving parents, Tommy "Lum" & Linda Sullivan of the home; sister, Kelly (Chris) Lloyd of McBee, SC; brother, Tim (Jennifer) Sullivan of Jefferson, SC; maternal grandmother, Willie Faye Middleton of Jefferson, SC; niece, Addison Lloyd; nephews, Jason Sullivan, and Tanner Sullivan; and numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, extended family, and a host of friends.

Memorials may be made to Jefferson Dixie Youth, P.O. Box 306, Jefferson, SC 29718, or to Macedonia Baptist Church 3870 Johnson Road, Jefferson, SC 29718 for the “Children’s & Youth Groups.”
