Grandview, MO – Mr. Lawrence Thomas “Tom” Rayfield, age 59, passed away on Tuesday, September 16, 2025. The family will honor his memory with a Celebration of Life, to be held at their home in Grandview, MO, on Saturday, October 11, 2025, from 1:00 PM to 4:00 PM. A graveside service with inurnment will take place at the Shiloh Methodist Church Cemetery in Chesterfield, SC, with details to be announced.

Born on November 30, 1965, in Kansas City, MO, Tom was the son of Franklin S. Rayfield and the late Lillian Gardner Rayfield. He graduated from Grandview High School and furthered his education at the University of Missouri – Columbia, where he studied Agricultural Economics. Tom began his career in the hospitality industry as a bartender during his university years, eventually working for numerous esteemed restaurants. His passion for connecting with people was evident in his magnetic personality, which left a lasting impression on all who met him.

Tom had a profound love for rescued cats and kittens, often providing them with loving homes and treating them with the care they deserved. His fondness for Shiloh Methodist Church in Chesterfield stemmed from his mother’s long-standing affiliation and faithfulness to the church and community.

Tom was preceded in death by his mother; step-mother, Shelby Begley Rayfield; and his cherished daughter, Madison Rayfield.

He is survived by his grandson, Mason Kitzi; his father, Franklin S. Rayfield of Grandview, MO; sister, Angela “Angie” Rayfield of Grandview, MO; special friend, Yvette Hall Hopgood of Panama City, FL; Leann Allen of Olathe, KS the mother of his daughter; as well as numerous cousins and extended family members.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society (www.cancer.org) or to a Humane Society of one's choice.
