Larry Lawrence Monk

Mr. Larry Lawrence Monk, age 77, entered into rest on Wednesday, February 7, 2018. The family will hold a memorial service at a later date.

Mr. Monk was born August 14, 1940 in Sioux City, Iowa a son of the late Simeon and Margaret Pithan Monk. He was a retired employee of Iowa Beef Packing and a U.S. Army Veteran. Larry enjoyed gardening, being outdoors with his chickens and dog, “Penny”. He will be fondly remembered for his sense of humor and that he always had a joke to share.

In addition to his parents, Larry was also preceded in death by his son, DanielGene Monk; 5 brothers and 6 sisters.

Survivors include his wife of 57 years, Sherry Monk of the home; son, Larry Dean Monk of Chesterfield, SC; daughters, Nichol A. (Joel) Wolf of AZ, and Jacalyn S. (Dave) Ferguson of CO; 9 grandchildren and 6 great grandchildren.
