HISTORY: Mr. Short was born September 19, 1932 in Ruby, SC a son of the late Lester Bart and Loney Elizabeth Steen Short. He was a retired millright and a U. S. Army Veteran. Mr. Short was a former member of the Patrick Town Council and was a member of the Patrick Presbyterian Church. Julius enjoyed working in the garden, growing flowers, and helping others. In addition to his parents, Julius was also preceded in death by a son, Donnie Short, a daughter, Doris Ann McLain, a grandson, Brad Stroud, a great grandson, Hunter Eason, 5 brothers, Sam, James, Farris, Gary, and Lee Burt Short, and by a sister, Allie Hoffman.

Wife of 58 years: Vera Cassidy Short of the home 2 Daughters: Vivian S. (Rev. Michael) Cassidy of Cheraw, SC and Viola S. (Gary) Blair of Patrick, SC
5 Grandchildren: Ashley Brigman, Gary Blair, Ladonna Blair, Landon Blair Cassidy and Grant Blair Cassidy and 3 Great Grandchildren
1 Brother: Ray (Estelle) Short of Lancaster, SC
1 Sister: Leila (Parvin) Eason of Ruby, SC
