DATELINE: Chesterfield, SC
DECEASED: Mrs. Julia Rae Freeman Odom, age 85, beloved wife of 61 years to Francis Marion Odom, died Wednesday, March 5, 2008 at Tuomey Regional Medical Center in Sumter.
FUNERAL SERVICE: 3:00 PM Saturday, March 8, 2008 at Miller-Rivers-Caulder Funeral Home Chapel.
INTERMENT: will follow at the Friendship United Methodist Church Cemetery.
VISITATION: 1:30 - 3:00 PM Saturday prior to the service at the funeral home
HISTORY: Mrs. Odom was born in Chesterfield County on January 2, 1923, a daughter of the late Rev. John Wesley and Allie Mae Rivers Freeman. She was a lifelong member of Friendship United Methodist Church and enjoyed spending time with her family, gardening, reading, and crocheting. Julia was the last surviving member of her family of 2 Sisters, Inez F. Gainey, and Savada F. Goodale; and 4 brothers, Rev. John C. Freeman, John Robert Freeman, Glenn D. Freeman, and Charles E. Freeman.

Husband of 61 years: Francis Marion Odom
1 Daughter: Carolyn O. (Don) Ballard of Sumter, SC
1 Granddaughter: Mallory Leigh Leviner of Sumter, SC
1 Great - Granddaughter: Kendall Leigh Pierson of Sumter, SC
Pallbearers will be her nephews, Larry Gainey, Harry Freeman, Benny Freeman, Gerald Freeman, Danny Goodale, Tim Goodale, and Jerry Goodale.
