Judge Johnny Adams Davis, age 82, entered into rest on Wednesday, December 6, 2023 at his home. A Celebration of Life service will be held at 2:00 PM Saturday, December 9, 2023 in the Chapel of Miller-Rivers-Caulder Funeral Home. The service will be officiated by Ted M. Vick and Brent Taylor, and the prayer of thanksgiving will be offered by Ms. Hannah Williams. Following the service, the family will receive friends at the funeral home.

Judge Davis was born on May 24, 1941 in Chesterfield, SC to the late Albert T. Davis, Sr. and Ora Mae Adams Davis. He graduated from Ruby High School and served in the SC Army National Guard. For a span of 11 years, Johnny dedicated himself to serving as a Magistrate Judge in Chesterfield County.

Apart from his judicial career, Judge Davis was the retired co-owner of B & D Land Sales. He was a devoted member of Chesterfield Presbyterian Church where he served as a Church Elder. Notably, he was also an esteemed member and Past Master of Chesterfield Masonic Lodge #220 since February 8, 1968. Additionally, he belonged to the Omar Shrine Temple as a Shriner.

Judge Davis actively engaged with his community and rendered support to various civic organizations throughout his life. He was a former board member with Lynches River Electric Cooperative and served on the Chesterfield County Transportation Committee Board. Furthermore, he held membership in the Chesterfield Service Club as a former secretary/treasurer while also serving as a board member of the ALPHA Behavioral Health Center where he played an instrumental role in establishing its Chesterfield branch.

His unwavering dedication to public service led to him being honored with the prestigious 2011 Greater Chesterfield Chamber of Commerce Lifetime Achievement Award. Judge Davis also demonstrated his passion for politics, actively participating at both the state and local levels. However, his ultimate joy lay in spending time with his grandchildren, who affectionately referred to him as "Pop-Pop".

Judge Davis was preceded in death by his parents, his brother Robert L. Davis, and his son John David Driggers.

He is survived by his wife of 35 years, Sharon H. Davis; children: Caroline D. (Clint) Adams, Judge John (Victoria) Davis of Chesterfield, SC, and Stuart (Heather) Davis of Conway, SC. He will be dearly missed by his grandchildren: Jasper Adams, Everly Adams, Tempest Boan, Hailey Boan, Ellis Avery Davis, and Patrick Blake Driggers. Albert T. (Sue) Davis Jr., Judge Davis' brother from Hickory, NC also survives him along with Charles "Charlie" Rivers as a son of the heart and Lessie Smith as a special family friend and caregiver.

The family would like to express their heartfelt gratitude to the hospice nurses Madison Sellers and Brandi Lowery Brumley, CNAs Hannah Williams and Denim Robinson, and the entire staff of Gentiva Hospice of Chesterfield for their exceptional care.
