Mr. John Thomas “Tommy” Melton, age 69, entered into rest on Sunday, July, 19, 2020 at his home. Graveside Services will be 11:00 AM Tuesday, July 21, 2020 at White Oak Presbyterian Church by Rev. Charlie Short. The funeral home will be open on Tuesday, July 21, 2020 from 8:00-10:00 AM for a public viewing. Due to Covid concerns, the family requests that any visitors and anyone attending the graveside services wear a mask and practice social distancing. The Melton family appreciates everyone’s understanding.

Mr. Melton was born October 13, 1950 in Monroe, NC a son of the late Jim and Estelle Melton. Tommy was a faithful member of White Oak Presbyterian Church and retired from Highland Industries with 35 years of service. He was a long time Cemetery Coordinator at White Oak Church as well as, Sunday school teacher, church elder, led the Men’s Group, and enjoyed cooking for VBS and Men’s Club. Tommy loved his family and friends, and his grandchildren were the apple of his eye. Mr. Melton was always willing to help anyone in need and always kept a positive outlook, no matter what the circumstances.

In addition to his parents, Mr. Melton was preceded in death by his brother, Michael Melton.

Survivors include his loving wife of 48 years, Doris Samra Melton of the home; daughter, Tammy (Michael) Nicholson of Pageland, SC; grandchildren, Caitlyn, Aleah, and Daniel; brother, James R. “Bobby” Melton of Ruby, SC; nieces and nephews, Jami, Floyd, Jackson, and Jamison.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials be made to White Oak Presbyterian Church,  5386 Angelus Rd, Ruby, SC 29741 or the White Oak Church Cemetery Fund.
