Johnny William McDowell

     Mr. Johnny William McDowell, age 88, entered into rest on Monday, August 17, 2026 at his home. The family will celebrate Mr. McDowell’s life privately at a later date.

     Mr. McDowell was born on August 17, 1938 in Cabarrus County, NC the son of the late Wiliam and Elizabeth Hargett McDowell. Johnny was an avid sports fan. He would watch any sport on television, but his favorite was baseball. When there weren’t any good games on, he also enjoyed watching westerns.

     Survivors include his wife of 13 years, Mary McDowell of the home; children, Theresa Presley of the home, Deborah (Darryl) Kerley of Hartsville, SC, Lynn Powell of Goldsboro, NC, Jimmy Presley of Ruby, SC; grandchildren, Johnny, Amber, Elizabeth, Ricky, Christy, Brittany, Mikey, Shane, Wesley, Trey, Tina, Stevie, Anna; and 17 great-grandchildren.
