John Nelson "Wishbone" Jenkins

Chesterfield, SC

Mr. John Nelson “Wishbone” Jenkins, age 65, entered into rest on Sunday, May 30, 2021. A time of remembrance and sharing of memories will be held on Thursday, June 3, 2021 between the hours of 6:00 – 8:00 PM at Miller-Rivers-Caulder Funeral Home.

Mr. Jenkins was born December 24, 1955 in Chesterfield, SC a son of the late Carroll G. Jenkins, Sr. and Verdie Faye Stroud Huggins. He was a graduate of Chesterfield High School, Class of 1974, where he enjoyed playing football and baseball. Mr. Jenkins was a former employee of Cheraw Dyeing & Finishing. He was a member of Friendship United Methodist Church and the Sons of Confederacy. He was an avid Clemson Tiger fan and enjoyed collecting baseball cards, and watching NASCAR.

Survivors include his brothers, Carroll G. “Sonny” (Margaret) Jenkins, Jr. of Elliston, MT, and James A. “Jimmy” (Cheryl) Jenkins of Moncks Corner, SC; nephews, Brian (Helen) Jenkins, and Dillon (Megan) Jenkins; special friends, Dawn C. Hardee, and Shirlean Lisenby Streater; numerous cousins including Mary Smith, A.D. Jordan, Bobbi Sue, Carolyn, Pee Wee, Pat, Cookie, Ricky, Susan, and Carroll; and his beloved cat, “Zack.”
