John Mann, also known as Johnny, a cherished family man known for his loving nature and infectious humor, passed away at his home on August 3, 2024, at the age of 82. Born on August 13, 1941, in Waterloo, SC, Johnny was a beacon of light and laughter to all who knew him. Johnny was preceded in death by his parents, L.T. and Margie Mann; his brother, Sherman Mann; and his sisters, Yvonne Noffz and Pat Mann. 

He is survived by his loving wife, Martha Mann, of 63 years, who stood by his side; his daughters, Diane Estes (Barry), Danna Davis, Wanda Turner (Jim), and April Griffin (Rodney); his grandchildren, Barry Estes II, Amy Estes, Kevin Powell, Jennifer Timms, Amanda Gregory, Chris Turner, Amber Clark, and Rodney Griffin; and 17 great-grandchildren and 1 great great grandchild.

A graduate of Hickory Tavern, Johnny's work ethic and intelligence shone brightly throughout his career in the textile industry. Starting as a maintenance worker, he quickly climbed the ranks to supervision, where he was respected for his leadership and friendly demeanor. Johnny's colleagues remember him as a man who could always be counted on for support and a good laugh.Johnny's interests were as varied as they were passionate. He loved to golf and fish. Westerns were his go-to entertainment, But above all, Johnny loved spending time with his grandchildren, playing and creating memories that will be treasured forever.Johnny's legacy is one of love, friendship, and intelligence. He was a man who made a lasting impact on his community and the lives of his family members. His warmth and kindness will be remembered by all who had the pleasure of crossing paths with him.As we say goodbye to Johnny, we celebrate a life well-lived, full of joy, laughter, and love. His spirit will continue to live on in the stories shared by his family and the countless lives he touched. Johnny Mann was truly one of a kind, and he will be missed dearly.

A celebration of life will be held on Saturday, August 10, at 3 PM, at Waterloo United Methodist Church, 131 Rocking C Ranch Dr, Waterloo, SC 29384.
