Mrs. Jeanne Marie Johnson entered into rest on Sunday, January 11, 2026 at the age of 85. The family will hold a funeral mass on Friday, January 16, 2026 at 4:00 PM in the chapel of St. Peter's Catholic Church.
Mrs. Johnson was born March 24, 1940, in Évin-Malmaison, France the daughter of the late Jean Baptiste Trimbour and Mary Margaret Hoff. Mrs. Johnson was raised in her hometown of Charey, France, before relocating to the United States at the age of 24. She became a U.S. citizen two years later. Jeanne Marie built a strong work ethic through her careers at Stanley Tools, Takata-Highland, and Chesterfield Manufacturing, before finding her professional home at Walmart, where she dedicated more than 25 years of service prior to her retirement.
In addition to her professional accomplishments, Mrs. Johnson assisted her husband in managing the Cheraw Airport until his passing in 1983. Demonstrating her lifelong commitment to learning, Jeanne Marie proudly enrolled at Northeastern Technical College and earned her Associate’s degree at the age of 60.
Mrs. Johnson found joy in gardening and reading, with a particular fondness for fiction. Above all, Jeanne Marie treasured her role as a mother and deeply cherished the time she spent with her daughters.
In addition to her parents, Mrs. Johnson was preceded in death by her first husband, Jonas Richard Whitley, Jr.; her second husband, Laylon Jack Johnson; siblings, Louis Trimbour, Roger Trimbour, Jean Baptiste Trimbour, and Hortence Félicie Royer.
Survivors include her daughters, Joelle Cannon of Cheraw, SC, Julie Kimrey of Chesterfield, SC; brother, Valentin (Ginette) Trimbour of France; step- daughters, Kim Puckett of Denver, NC, Annette Wilkerson of Ruby, SC; step-grandchildren, Michael Moseley, Megan Harris, Melissa Moseley, William Tucker, Jr., Tiffany Morton, Danielle Teal; numerous nieces and nephews; her Walmart work family; and beloved pets, Rex, Charcoal, and Tiny Bit.
In honor of her victory over breast cancer, memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society, donate.cancer.org; or to honor of her love of animals, memorials may be made to the American Humane Society, www.americanhumane.org.
