Jarrid "JayB" Martin Brown

Pageland, SC — Mr. Jarrid “JayB” Martin Brown, age 24, passed away on January 6, 2026, at his residence. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM on Wednesday, January 14, 2026, from the chapel of Miller-Rivers-Caulder Funeral Home, officiated by Pastor Trey Thompson, with burial to follow in the Union Hill Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 12:00 PM to 1:45 PM on Wednesday before the service at the funeral home and also at the home of his mother, Shontae Woods in Pageland, SC.

Mr. Brown was born on February 22, 2001, in Lancaster, SC, to James Martin “JB” Brown and Shontae Watts Woods. A 2019 graduate of Central High School, JayB had a profound love for sports, especially baseball. He was employed at TrueRock Construction and always carried an entrepreneurial spirit throughout his life. An avid video gamer, he enjoyed playing Apex Legends on his PlayStation. JayB also was known to enjoy shooting guns and was passionate about music, often expressing that it was his therapy. Known for his vibrant personality, he loved to share his musical talent, frequently adding snaps of himself singing as loud as he could to his favorite songs. He was always seeking ways to impress the ladies.

As a proud “mama’s boy,” JayB cherished being a father, viewing this role as his greatest accomplishment. His playful demeanor earned him the title of the family clown, and he was known for his ability to lighten any moment with humor. Besides his mother, he enjoyed a close bond with his big sister Bridae Brown, who was his lifelong friend.

Mr. Brown was preceded in death by his great-grandfathers, David Catoe, and Donald Woods; paternal great-aunt, Madeline Brown Harper; and his dear friend and brother of the heart, Joshua Barbee.

He is survived by his daughter, Amani Danyelle Moree, and her mother, Hannah Moree; his mother, Shontae Watts (T.J.) Woods of Pageland, SC; his father, James Martin “JB” (Kelly) Brown of Lancaster, SC; sisters Bridae (Brianna) Brown of Jefferson, SC, Chloe Brown, Natalie Duncan both of Lancaster, SC, and Brittany O’Brien of Monroe, NC; brothers Zachary Woods and Christopher Woods both of CT; a brother of the heart, Wyatt Lee Williams, and his daughter, Ryleigh of Pageland, SC; grandparents, Lisa (Donnie) Baker, Ricky (Tamzi) Watts, and Jesse (Barbara) Brown all of Pageland, SC, Laura (Larry) Raper of TX, Tom (Ann) Woods of Monroe, NC and Lisa (Ray) Franklin of Marshville, NC; great-grandmothers, Lola Catoe of Fort Lawn, SC, and Betty Woods of CT; nephews Karter Brown and Royal O’Brien whom he loved dearly; god sister, Shanela Rorie of Monroe, NC; and special friend Keniyah Joines, along with numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, and extended family.
