Mrs. Janie Marie Chapman Caulder, age 88, wife of Mr. Theran Caulder, went home to be with her Lord on Thursday, December 25, 2025, at English Meadows Carolina Bay Campus, Hartsville, SC. Funeral services will be 2:00 PM Sunday, December 28, 2025 from the Chapel of Miller-Rivers-Caulder Funeral Home by Pastor Bill Brock with burial to follow in the Mt. Olivet Methodist Church Cemetery. The family will greet friends from 1:00 – 2:00 PM Sunday, prior to the service at the funeral home.
Mrs. Caulder was born November 4, 1937 in Cheraw, SC a daughter of the late John Clifton and Ruby Amerson Chapman. She was a member of Mt. Olivet Methodist Church, Cheraw, SC. Janie enjoyed baking, yard work, and keeping her house spotless. She was a caring soul who touched the lives of many through her kindness and generosity. She was a dedicated hygienist for over 36 years working alongside Dr. Chuck Clark in Chesterfield, SC.
In addition to her parents, Mrs. Caulder was also preceded in death by her brother, John Thomas “Sam” Chapman (Katie), sisters, Amy Driggers (Sonny), Sara Frances Chapman, and Margaret Patty Driggers; and daughter, Teresa Elaine Caulder.
Janie leaves behind to cherish her memory, her husband of 72 years, Theran Caulder of the home; two sons, Mickey (Susan) Caulder of Florence, SC, and Mike (Lisa) Caulder of Brevard, NC; daughter, Sharon Chewning of Patrick, SC; three grandsons, Jason (Leslie) Chewning, Barry Caulder (Brandi), and Andy Chewning all of Patrick, SC; great granddaughter, Ava Caulder of Cheraw, SC; two great grandsons, James Caulder of Patrick, SC, and Waylon Ray Chewning of Ruby, SC; Leighton Cole granddaughter of Jason (Leslie) Chewning of Patrick, SC; brother, Howard Clifton “Bucky” Chapman (Kay); sister, Jean Caulder, and special niece, Diane Jordan of Cheraw, SC.
The family would like to express their heartfelt gratitude to the staff of English Meadows Carolina Bay Retreat of Hartsville for their professional care.
