HISTORY: Ms. Smith was born June 19, 1957, in Charlotte, NC, a daughter of the late Emmitt and Catherine Previtte Lee. She was a graduate of East Mecklenburg High School, and was an employee of A O Smith Corp. for the past 28 years. Janice attended Macedonia Baptist Church. She enjoyed spending time with her grandsons, and was an avid Carolina Gamecock fan.

2 Daughters: Renee Faile and Ricky Laney of Pageland, SC and Amanda (Chad) Melton of Jefferson, SC
Former Husband: Mike Smith of Ruby, SC
4 Grandsons: Austin and Justin Faile and Johnathan and Drake Melton
1 Brother: Donnie Lee of Charlotte, NC
2 Sisters: Jo Ann Linker and Donna Black both of Harrisburg, NC
