Janet was born April 10, 1968, in Monroe, North Carolina, to the late Carroll M. and Helen J. Jordan. A 1986 graduate of Central High School, she was actively involved in the CHS Marching Band. On August 25, 1987, she joined the Pageland Rescue Squad and attained her EMT Certification in December 1988. Over 39 years, Janet faithfully served Chesterfield County and surrounding communities as an EMT \ Paramedic, also working with First Health and Chesterfield County Dispatch, earning the affectionate nickname “Sweet Janet.”

A lifelong member of Fairview Baptist Church, Janet accepted the Lord and was baptized on September 23, 1979. She was committed to the youth and children’s ministries, maintaining involvement even when she was unable to attend. Continuing her late mother’s tradition, Janet was known as the official sweet tea maker for every church event. She enjoyed cooking, finding deals at local sales and auctions, and dining at her favorite restaurant, Quincy’s. Janet will be remembered for her devoted service to others and her beautiful personality that brought smiles to everyone around her.

Along with her parents, Janet was preceded in death by her grandparents, Rufus and Arlevia Jordan, and Ross and Geneva Jordan.

She is survived by aunts and uncles Gerald and Sue Jordan of Mt. Croghan, South Carolina, and Robert and Rachel Jordan of Chesterfield, South Carolina; numerous cousins including a special cousin, Glenda Oliver of Florence, South Carolina; other extended family members; her sister of the heart, Kim (Jeff) Mullis, and her children, Owen P. Gulledge and Abigail V. Gulledge, whom Janet regarded as her own; and a special family friend, Hope Roscoe of Mt. Gilead, North Carolina.
