James Richard Sellers

Chesterfield, SC

           Mr. James Richard Sellers, age 74, entered into rest on Monday, January 2, 2023. A graveside service will be held at 11:00 AM Saturday, January 7, 2023 at Hopewell Baptist Church Cemetery by Brent Taylor. The family will greet friends immediately following the service at the cemetery.

          Mr. Sellers was born January 6, 1948 in Monroe, NC a son of the late Burris and Grace Rivers Sellers. He retired after 40 years of service from Pageland Sand Company (formerly Warden & Smith.) Richard enjoyed riding motorcycles and his Kubota UTV, and “tinkering” on his old John Deere Tractors.

          In addition to his parents, Mr. Sellers was also preceded in death by his sister, Judy Diggs.

          Survivors include his son, Jonathan (Michelle) Sellers of Chesterfield, SC; grandchildren, Ryan (Nicole) Sellers, Tiffany (Russ) Larrimore, and Kendall Hicks; great grandchild, Isabella Grabowski; sister, Sharon (David) Thurman of Ruby, SC; nephews, DP (Emalee) Thurman, and Scott (Theresa Diggs); nieces, Sarah (Justin) Griggs, and Teresa Diggs; and special friend, Phyllis Teal.
