Jadie S. James

Chesterfield, SC

          Mr. Jadie S. James, age 91, entered into rest on Monday, June 5, 2023 at Cheraw Healthcare. A private family graveside service will be held at Shiloh United Methodist Church Cemetery.

          Mr. James was born 24, 1931 in Chesterfield, SC a son of the late Henry Phillip and Donna McLain James. He was a retired employee of Delta Mills and a member of Shiloh United Methodist Church. A true outdoorsman, Jadie enjoyed fishing and working in the garden alongside his sister, Lib. The two of them grew a large garden each year, only to gift their friends and neighbors with vegetables.

          Mr. James was the last surviving member of his immediate family, having been predeceased by parents and all of his siblings, Elizabeth “Lib” Wallace, Julian James, William James, Madge King, Clara Wallace, Leatha Freeman, Margaret Moore, Jennie Hancock, Katherine Horne, Nellie James, and an infant brother.

          Mr. James is survived by his son, Michael “Mike” James; numerous nieces, nephews, great nieces, and great nephews; and close family friend, Mary Rose Miller.
