HISTORY: Mr. Phelps was born in Lexington, NC a son of the late Dalton and Viola Cope Phelps. He was a retired water treatment operator with the City of Winston-Salem, NC. Howard was married to the late Katherine Sweatt Phelps and was also preceded in death by his Brother, Roy Phelps and his Sister, Lena Phelps Spaugh.

SURVIVORS:
4 Sons: Jimmy Phelps and David Phelps of Clemmons, NC, Howard "Buddy" Phelps, Jr. of Charlotte, NC, and Terry Phelps of Winston-Salem, NC.

3 Daughters: Frances Phelps Black of Chesterfield, SC, Linda Phelps Osborn of Tobaccoville, NC, and Kathy Phelps Joyner of Clemmons, NC
