Mr. Howard L. Jordan, age 94, husband of the late Grace O. Jordan, went home to be with the Lord on Thursday, December 18, 2025 at Cheraw Healthcare. Funeral services will be 2:00 PM Monday, December 22, 2025 at Bethel Baptist Church by Pastor Curtis Laney and Reverend Charles Terry with burial to follow in the church cemetery. The family will greet friends from 1:00 – 2:00 PM Monday, prior to the service at the church.
Mr. Jordan was born on May 12, 1931, in Chesterfield County, SC, the son of the late Lonnie Preston “L.P.” Jordan and Addie Jane Steen Jordan. He was a dedicated employee of Caro-knit, retiring after over 34 years of service, and was a faithful member of Bethel Baptist Church. Known for his outgoing and welcoming personality, Howard enjoyed daily visits to Bojangles in Pageland, where he would catch up with friends and greet newcomers to the area. He cherished conversations with family and friends over the phone, enjoyed his daily walks, and spent many hours working in his yard—often riding his lawn mower cutting grass and leaves, while reminding his family that it was beneficial for his health.
In addition to his parents, Mr. Jordan was also preceded in death by his wife, Grace Outen Jordan; grandson, Chris Sikes; and siblings, James Anacin Jordan, Preston Jordan, David Jordan, Horace Jordan, Coleen Sims, and Clara Gilmore.
Survivors include his daughters, Gwen J. Oliver of Lexington, NC, and Vicky J. (Donnie) Sikes of Ruby, SC; grandchildren, Dawn Oliver of Cheraw, SC, Lee Oliver of Columbia, SC, Melissa (Kevin) Hedrick of Lexington, NC, Terri (Steven) Deason of Ruby, SC, Jeremy Sikes (Casey Johns) of Chesterfield, SC; great grandchildren, Josh (Alisha) Melton, Dylan (Erika) Melton, Ryan (Haley) Mills, Marley (Spencer) Pegues, Case Oliver, Tinsley Oliver, Brandon Sikes, Cheyenne Hedrick, Kayla (Case) Aldridge, Elena Deason, and Malia Deason; 15 great grandchildren with 1 on the way; numerous nieces and nephews; and close friends and neighbors, Dale Carnes and family.
