Mrs. Hazel “Millie” Boan, 95, of Murray Drive, entered into rest on Saturday, July 25, 2026. Visitation will be held from 6:00 – 8:00 PM on Wednesday, July 29, 2026 at Miller-Rivers-Caulder Funeral Home, Chesterfield, SC. Graveside services will be held at 11:00 AM on Thursday, July 30, 2026 at Chatham Hill Memorial Gardens, Cheraw, SC with a reception to follow at the home of Tim & Susan Boan.
Miss Millie was born and raised in Cheraw to the late Theodore Brigman and Vera Lee Braswell Brigman on October 2, 1930. She was a devoted wife of 77 years to the late Luther B. Boan, Jr.; a devoted mother, grandmother, and great grandmother; she had a strong Christian faith and lived it daily. She was known for her soothing presence, quick wit and humor, and love of fashion. She was always active in her yard, growing and arranging flowers. She was a member of Pleasant Hill Baptist Church where she served as secretary/treasurer for many years. She later attended North Cheraw Baptist Church and Cheraw First Baptist Church.
She was predeceased by her husband, Luther B. Boan, Jr.; and her daughter, Lynda Meredith Sellers. Survivors are sons, Ted (Vickie) Boan, Tim (Susan) Boan, and Tom (Melinda) Boan, all of Cheraw. Also surviving are grandchildren: Jessica (Walt) Sagan, Merdith Posey, Luben (Hannah) Sellers, Jarred (Brandi) Boan, Janice Marie (Alex) Mabrey, Lindsey (Kirk) McCants, Luke (Sarah) Boan, Molly (Troy) Lowder, Sam Boan, Kate (Josh) Lawhon, and Lauren (Cal) Scott; and many great grandchildren and great-great grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
Honorary pallbearers will be grandsons.
We also want to thank her in-home caregivers – Gail Crenshaw Paul, Hope Castor, Clova Smith and others – and the staff of Cheraw Post Acute Care.
Memorials in Mrs. Boan’s name may be made to a church or charity of your choice.
