Harold "Hammer" Hancock

Mr. Harold “Hammer” Hancock, age 69, entered into rest on Thursday, July 3, 2025. In keeping with Mr. Hancock’s wishes no formal services are scheduled.

Mr. Hancock was born January 1, 1956 in Chesterfield, SC a son of the late John David and Gennie James Hancock. He was a 1974 graduate of Chesterfield High School and earned his Advance Tool and Die certification from Chesterfield – Marlboro TEC. He was a retired employee of Industrial Tool & Machine and a former employee of Stanley Tools. Hammer enjoyed fishing, playing golf, collecting guns, and driving fast cars.

In addition to his parents, Mr. Hancock was also preceded in death by his son’s mother, Gail Hancock; aunt, Elizabeth “Lib” Wallace; and uncle, Jadie S. James.

Survivors include his son, David Carlton (Aimee) Hancock, Sr. of Cheraw, SC; grandchildren, David Hancock, Jr., Jessie (Kayla) Hancock, David Clark, and Elizabeth Hancock; great grandsons, Cayden Reid Hancock, Brantley Lane Baker; brother, Martin (Barbara) Hancock of Cheraw, SC; nieces, Paige Coates, and Kelly Wallace; great nieces, Beth Coates, Marlee Coates, and Kayla Wallace; honorary granddaughter, April Fowler; close friend and housekeeper, Mary Rose Miller; in addition to numerous friends and his loyal golfing buddies.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to a charity of one’s choice.
