Glennie M. Hancock

Mrs. Glennie Mae Teal Hancock, age 81, entered into rest on Thursday, October 5, 2023 at her home. Funeral services will be 3:00 PM Sunday, October 8, 2023 at Fairview Baptist Church by Pastor Kyle Oliver with burial to follow in the church cemetery. The family will greet friends from 2:00 – 3:00 PM Sunday, prior to the service at the church.

Mrs. Hancock was born August 22, 1942 in Chesterfield, SC a daughter of the late Olin Teal and Irene Rivers Sellers. She was a retired employee of Chesterfield Manufacturing and a faithful member of Fairview Baptist Church, where she served on the W.M.U., Bereavement Meal Committee, and choir member. Glennie Mae was a dedicated homemaker who enjoyed sewing, baking, and cooking. She was known for her chicken and dumplings and pound cakes. A lady who loved to talk on the telephone, Glennie Mae would always keep in touch with her grandchildren and remind them how much she loved them. There was absolutely nothing she would not do for her grandboys and great grandgirls, they were truly the apple of her eye!

In addition to her parents, Mrs. Hancock was also preceded in death by a brother, Harmon Sellers.

Survivors include her husband of 63 years, Franklin Manley Hancock; daughter, Jackie H. (Keith) Benton of Lexington, SC; grandchildren, Brian Benton (Katey), Bradley (Brittney) Benton, and Brett Benton; great grandchildren, Freya Benton, and Paisley Benton, and soon to be arriving in November great grandson, Walker; brothers, Kenny Dean (Virginia) Sellers, Weldon (Carolyn) Sellers, Jr.; sisters, Marolyn (Harry) Haun, and Sandra (Grady) Tucker both of Cheraw, SC; in addition to numerous nieces and nephews.
