Mr. Glenn Michael McLain, age 90, peacefully entered into rest on the morning of August 30, 2025, at the Lexington Community Hospice House. A funeral service will be held on Tuesday, September 2, 2025, at 11:00 AM from the Chapel of Miller-Rivers-Caulder Funeral Home, with Pastor Dr. Lindsey Powell officiating. Interment will follow at Patrick Cemetery. The family invites friends to greet them from 10:00 to 11:00 AM on Tuesday at the funeral home and at other times at the residence of his daughter and son-in-law, Theresa and Frankie Joyner, in Patrick.
Mr. McLain was born on May 7, 1935, in Patrick, South Carolina, to the late Walter Kelly McLain and Geneva Cassidy McLain. He was a proud graduate of Chesterfield High School and Columbia Business College. Following his education, he dedicated his career to the family business, Patrick Auto Parts and Patrick Auto Sales, which was established in 1954. Mr. McLain served as CEO and was deeply committed to the community, often helping individuals start their own businesses through his expertise in repairing and restoring cars or simply providing them their first job.
A long-time member of Patrick Baptist Church, where he served as a Deacon, Mr. McLain later moved his membership to Lower Macedonia Baptist Church after marrying Mrs. Dolores. He also dedicated over 22 years as a Magistrate Judge in Patrick. In retirement, he cherished spending time at his country home, watching the deer and wildlife from his back porch. He enjoyed attending church each Sunday and hosting BBQ’s that would include feeding between 50 – 100 people.
Mr. McLain enjoyed sharing his love for family and friends, often offering home-cooked meals and gifts of fresh blueberries, honey, and peaches to those around him. His faith was central to his life, as he consistently expressed gratitude for his family and friends in prayer.
In addition to his parents, Mr. McLain was preceded in death by his first wife, Maggie Lee Polk McLain, with whom he shared 53 years of marriage.
He leaves behind his beloved wife of 17 years, Dolores Curry McLain; children, Robert M. McLain, Theresa M. (Frankie) Joyner, Darrell H. (Robin) King, Dennis G. (Tammy) King, and Marty L. King; 9 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; brothers, Eugene W. McLain and Wilson J. McLain; and sister, Gladys Parker.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Lower Macedonia Baptist Church, located at 5267 Teals Mill Road, Cheraw, SC 29520.
In a heartfelt message to family and friends, the family shared Mr. McLain's prayer: “God bless you all, I love you and can’t wait until I see you again in Heaven! Amen.”
