Lancaster, SC – Mr. Gerald John LaDue, 72, peacefully passed away on Saturday, June 7, 2025, at MUSC Health Lancaster Medical Center. A private graveside service will take place at Lancaster Memorial Park, officiated by Brent Taylor.
Born on February 18, 1953, in Plattsburg, NY, Mr. LaDue was the son of the late Maynard Raffael LaDue and Loretta Chagnon LaDue. He dedicated his working career to mechanical manufacturing and proudly served in the military. Mr. LaDue was also a former member of Northside Baptist Church. Known for his strong-willed and independent nature, he was regarded by many as a profoundly selfless gentleman.
In addition to his parents, Mr. LaDue was preceded in death by his sister, Mona Silver, and his brother, Francis LaDue.
He is survived by his beloved wife of nearly 41 years, Karen T. LaDue; his children, Rebecca (David) Calabris of Denver, NC, Andrew LaDue of Lancaster, SC, Alice (George) Knight, and John LaDue, Jr.; his step-son, Johnny Pyatt; and numerous grandchildren including Madison McManus, Andrew LaDue, Jr., and Emily LaDue. Additionally, he leaves behind his siblings: Lorena, Pam, Mary, Susie, Tammy, Maynard, Jr., and Jimmy, along with numerous nieces and nephews.
The family extends their heartfelt gratitude to his special caregiver and granddaughter, Madison, as well as home health nurse Mark and the entire staff of SC House Calls for their compassionate care.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial donations be made to a humane society or charity of one's choice.
