George W. Shaffer

     Mr. George W. Shaffer, age 95, entered into rest on Wednesday, August 12, 2026 at McLeod Health - Cheraw. The family will celebrate Mr. Shaffer’s life privately at a later date.

     Mr. Shaffer was born on July 12, 1931 in Brookville, PA the son of the late William Shaffer and Mary Alice Bowley Vasbinder. George enjoyed communicating with friends through the art of ham radio. He also enjoyed the sport of shooting and was an avid collector of firearms. Another favorite pastime was fly fishing, where he enjoyed spending time on the water and appreciating the outdoors.

    Survivors include his children, Greg (Theresa) Shaffer of Fairfax, VA, Gerry (Becky) Shaffer of Cheraw, SC, Carrie Shaffer of Kent, OH, Henry Shaffer of Colorado Springs, CO, Judy (Ken) Brady of DuBois, PA; grandchildren, Janelle, Gerrod, David, Jonothan, Rebekah, Deborah, Tate; 17 great-grandchildren, and two more on the way.
