Gary Donald "Bubba" Blair

Mr. Gary Donald "Bubba" Blair, age 43, passed away on Friday, July 24, 2026. A Celebration of Life service will be held at 6:00 PM, Sunday, August 9, 2026, at Lower Macedonia Baptist Church. The family will greet friends following the service and other times at the home of Michael & Vivian Cassidy, Cheraw, SC.

Mr. Blair was born July 15, 1983 in Sylacauga, AL a son of Gary Franklin Blair and the late Viola Mae Short Blair. Mr. Blair grew up attending Cheraw schools and worked with Advanced Auto Parts and Auto Zone. He faithfully attended Lower Macedonia Baptist Church, where he enjoyed singing with his uncle Michael at local retirement homes. Known for his mechanical skills, he could fix anything with a motor and loved driving.

He was a devoted caregiver to his father and cherished time with his nephews, Landon and Grant Cassidy. His close relationship with his aunt and uncle, Vivian and Michael Cassidy, and his grandmother, Vera Short, was evident in his life.

Survivors include his father, Gary Blair of Wallace, SC; sister, LaDonna DeAnna Blair (Bobby Wilkerson, Jr.) of Chesterfield, SC; and his beloved dog, “Scrubby.”

In addition to his mother, Mr. Blair was also predeceased by a nephew, Hunter Lee Eason; paternal grandfather, George Blair; maternal grandfather, Julius Short; aunt, Doris Ann Short; and uncle, Donnie Short.
