Mr. Anson Jacobs, Sr., age 83, entered into rest on Wednesday, January 20, 2021. Funeral services will be 2:00 PM Friday, January 22, 2021 from the Chapel of Miller-Rivers-Caulder Funeral Home by Pastor Marty Nason and Brent Taylor with burial to follow in the Pleasant Grove United Methodist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 1:00 PM – 2:00 PM Friday prior to the service at the funeral home.

Due to the continued COVID-19 risks, we ask that you practice social distancing at all times and refrain from any physical contact. The family would like for all attending the service to please wear a face covering. The services will be streamed live on the Miller Rivers Caulder Funeral Home Facebook page.

Mr. Jacobs was born February 9, 1937 in Columbia, SC a son of the late Spofford Anson and Essie Lee Davis Jacobs. He was a retired employee of Carolina Canners with 34 years of service and a member of the SC Army National Guard. A faithful life-long member of Pleasant Grove United Methodist Church, Mr. Jacobs served in numerous capacities throughout the years. He enjoyed collecting and repairing clocks and flying model airplanes. Anson was always willing to help anyone that he could. Having the ability to repair anything, he was known as a “Jack of All Trades”. Mr. Jacobs was proud of his Model A cars and enjoyed working on his tractor.

In addition to his parents, Anson was also preceded in death by his brothers, Richard Scott Jacobs, Sr., and Rev. Ralph H. Jacobs, Sr.; and sister, Barbara J. Campbell.

A true family man, Anson was a devoted husband, father, and “Pa-Pa.” He was quick to tell anyone how much he loved his “Little Bride.” He is survived by his beloved wife of 60 years, Rebekah R. Jacobs of the home; children, Garland (Sherry) Jacobs, Jr. of Cheraw, SC, Jeff (Hollie) Jacobs of Bennettsville, SC; grandchildren, Blake (Mary-Kaitlin Thurman) Jacobs, Colby (Mica Hutson) Jacobs, Brittany (Nathan) Jenkins, Amber Jacobs, Rachael (Thomas Cassidy) Jacobs, Nick Jacobs, and Hunter (Christina Sadat) Sellers; great-grandchildren, Carson, Nolan, Cooper, Nora Claire, and Carina; sisters-in-laws, Novella M. Jacobs of Chesterfield, SC, and Janice H. Jacobs of Cheraw, SC; and numerous nieces and nephews.
