Franklin James

Mr. Franklin J. “Jessie” James, age 77, entered into rest on Wednesday, March 1, 2017. Funeral Services will be 3:00 PM Saturday, March 4, 2017 from the Chapel of Miller-Rivers-Caulder Funeral Home by Rev. Gene Beaver. A private family committal service will be held at a later date at Thompson Creek Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will greet friends from 2:00 – 3:00 PM Saturday, prior to the service at the funeral home.

Mr. James was born January 9, 1940 in Chesterfield, SC a son of the late Spofford and Bessie Tucker James. He was a retired employee of Springs Industries and a member of the Mt. Moriah Masonic Lodge #58. He enjoyed traveling and working on lawnmowers.

In addition to his parents, Jessie was also preceded in death by his brothers, Cletus Pete, David, Grady, and Ronald James; 3 sisters, Gracie Cain, Letha Mae Proctor, and Katherine Morrison; sister-in-law, Judy James.

Survivors include his children, Dicky James, Shorty James, and Annette James all of Lancaster, SC, numerous grandchildren; 3 brothers, L.C. “Duckie” (Leonor) James of Monroe, NC, Leonard (Martha) James of Concord, NC, Jerrel James of China Grove, NC; 1 sister, Margaret Sheets of Kannapolis, NC; also numerous nieces and nephews.

The family requests that memorials be made to a charity of one’s choice.
