Emma Jean Austin Winburn

          Mrs. Emma Jean Austin Winburn, age 87, went home to be with the Lord on Wednesday, November 23, 2022. Funeral services will be 3:00 PM Saturday, November 26, 2022 from the Chapel of Miller-Rivers-Caulder Funeral Home by Brent Taylor with burial to follow in the Patrick Cemetery. The family will greet friends from 2:00 – 3:00 PM Saturday, November 26, 2022 at the funeral home.

          Mrs. Winburn was born July 18, 1935 in Greenville, SC a daughter of the late Joseph and Nettie Pierson Austin. She was a retired employee of Sacony Industries and a dedicated homemaker. Emma Jean was a member of Pelzer Presbyterian Church and enjoyed attending Patrick Presbyterian Church. A lady who enjoyed the outdoors, Mrs. Winburn enjoyed gardening and could often be found working in her flowers. Emma Jean loved talking to people and never met a stranger. She was affectionately known to her family and everyone in the community as “Granny.”

          Mrs. Winburn was the youngest and last surviving member of her immediate family of siblings and sisters-in-law, and was also preceded in death by her husband, John Edward Winburn; and son, William F. “Bill” Winburn.

          Survivors include her daughter, Karen (Terry) Teal of Patrick, SC; grandchildren, Terri Anne (Jason) Cribb, Jason (Michelle) Winburn both of Patrick, SC, Christopher (Belynda) Teal of Claremont, NC, and Sydney (Cas) Caulder of Patrick, SC; great grandchildren, Trent (Lynsee) Winburn, Gracie Winburn, Brendalynn McKaraher, Emma Lynn Caulder, Lawson Teal Caulder, Jaxton Teal, Lacey Moore, Richy Moore, and Catherine Moore; great-great grandchildren, Juliette Carroll, and Jovie Winburn; special sister-in-law, Jo Anne Morgan of Cheraw, SC; and numerous nieces and nephews.
