Emily Ruth Gaskins Davis

Mrs. Emily Ruth Gaskins Davis, age 78, entered into rest on Friday, September 18, 2020. The family will host a memorial service for family and friends at 2 P.M. on Monday, September 21, 2020 at Maranatha Family Worship Center in Cheraw, SC by Rev. Allen Usher and Rev. Julian Cato.

Mrs. Davis was born May 2, 1942 in Chesterfield, SC a daughter of the late Minor C. and Emma Ruth Sowell Gaskins. She was a teacher at Maranatha Christian School and a member of Maranatha Church. Emily enjoyed reading, growing her flowers, painting, and sewing. A gem of a woman, Emily was a wonderful wife, mother, and grandmother.

In addition to her parents, Emily was preceded in death by a daughter, Barbie Davis; brother, Minor O. Gaskins; Sisters, Miriam S. Pusser, Hallie D. Gaskins; and a sister-in-law, Bernice Gaskins.

Survivors include her loving husband of 62 years, Dennis Faye Davis of the home; children, Jerry (Janet) Davis of Mt. Pleasant, NC, Wesley (Charity) Davis of Cheraw, SC, Dennis Davis of Chesterfield; 10 grandchildren, 3 great-grandchildren, and 1 great-great grandchild; brothers, Monroe (Margie) Gaskins of Chesterfield, Joel N. Gaskins of Ruby, SC; and a sister, Margaret Ann (Alton) Hunter of Maryland.
