Duncan Belvin “Big Duncan” Lett, age 79, of Patrick went to be with the Lord after his brave and courageous battle with cancer on Friday, August 7, 2026. Funeral services will be 12:00 PM Tuesday, August 11, 2026 at Grace & Mercy Worship Center officiated by Pastor Ricky “Sweet” Jenkins and Rev. Jim Murray. The burial service will follow in the Lett Family Cemetery officiated by Brent Taylor.

Mr. Lett will be taken home on Sunday evening. Friends and family are welcome to come by, share memories, and pay their respects anytime on Monday, August 10, 2026 at 823 Colin King Road, Patrick, SC.

Duncan worked many jobs in his life including textiles, logging, truck driver, and construction. He retired from the SC Department of Transportation after 15 years with the highway department due to his health.

Duncan enjoyed spending time with his family and friends, fishing, farming, and most of all helping people. He was a former member of the Patrick Rescue Squad. He loved his dogs, “Mutt Dog,” “Minnie,” and missed “Pearl” greatly. He was proud to be a part of his great church, Grace & Mercy Worship Center.

Duncan was preceded in death by his parents, Wade Hampton Lett and Sara King Lett; brother, James Lett; daughter, Ellen L. Hayes; and nephew, Rodger Gainey.

He is survived by a large family whom he cherished including his wife of 47 years, Linda Rivers Lett; his children, Duncan Wade Lett of Patrick, Richard Lett of Rockwell, NC, Robert Thomas “Tommy” (Chelsea) Lett of Patrick, SC, Zack (Haylee) Lett of Myrtle Beach, Carolyn (Jeff) Armistead of Summerville, SC, Linda “Dale” Lett of the home; son-in-law, Ricky Hayes; and sister, Shirley Crowley.

Duncan had a close relationship with his nieces, Sherry Gainey of Patrick, Terri (Ricky) Atkinson of Patrick, and Barbie (Jim) Galloway of Oats, SC. He was also blessed to have 6 grandchildren, 15 great grandchildren, 7 nieces and nephews, 24 great nieces and nephews, 12 great great nieces and nephews, and 1 great great great niece.
