Doris Bowers Dixon

Mrs. Doris Jean Bowers Dixon, age 84, entered into eternal rest on Friday, December 3, 2021. Funeral services will 2:00PM, Monday, December 6, 2021 at Bay Springs Baptist Church by Pastor Tracy Gooding with burial to follow in the McBee Cemetery. The family will receive friends and family on Sunday after 1:00 PM and anytime Monday morning until Noon at the home, 1671 Bay Springs Church Rd., Chesterfield, SC 29709.

Mrs. Dixon was born February 27,1937 in Kershaw County, SC a daughter of the late Erving H. and Mollie Hall Bowers. A member of Bay Springs Baptist Church, Doris enjoyed working in her yard, reading and flowers. She loved watching humming birds feed. Perhaps her favorite thing to do was cooking for her family and having family dinners, her family was her life.

In addition to her parents, Mrs. Dixon was preceded in death by numerous brothers and sisters.

Survivors include her husband of 67 years, Elijah Dixon of the home; sons, Billy (Stacy) Dixon of Patrick, SC, Danny (Sherri) Dixon of Chesterfield, SC, David (Leigh Ann) Dixon of Patrick, SC; daughters, Sherri Allen of North Augusta, SC and Sandra Miskelly of Clearwater, SC; 16 grandchildren; 23 great-great grandchildren; in addition to numerous nieces and nephews.
